Speech & Language Therapy

Literacy Diagnostics & Intervention

Providing personalized speech therapy services to children in Cumming, Dawsonville and Johns Creek, GA.  This includes screenings, evaluations, therapy and parent/caregiver trainings. I am also available to provide staff/parent in services on speech-language development or any other related topic. I serve children primarily in their natural learning environment, typically in daycare, preschool, home, or school. 

Articulation

  • Correct production of speech sounds

  • Producing age-appropriate sounds & sound combinations

  • Increasing overall speech intelligibility

Teletherapy

  • We offer private, on-line speech therapy in the comfort of your own home. You can easily schedule a time and log in from home for your therapy session. These sessions are most appropriate for children ages 7 and up.

  • High speech internet connection (wired or wireless) and a computer or tablet with a webcam and headset with an attached microphone. 

Early Intervention

  • Help for late talkers. Coaching caregivers on how to encourage speech and language skill during daily activities.

  • One-on-one therapy sessions to increase word and phrase use.

Receptive and Expressive Language

  • Listening skills & comprehension of spoken language

  • Asking & answering questions

  • Expanding vocabulary & phrase length

  • Understanding conversation

  • Finding the right words to use in conversation or when describing or explaining something

Evaluations & Screenings

  • Reviewing teacher observation reports 

  • Observation of your child engaged in an activity

  • Direct interaction with your child along with informal testing

Each session is one-one-one with the child, but I encourage those involved in the child's life (i.e. parents, teachers, caregivers, etc.) to observe some therapy sessions and be involved in what goals are being targeted in therapy. I also provide ideas and materials to reinforce what is covered in therapy sessions, so these skills can also be addressed at home and in the school setting.
